Seatex’s liquid chemical blending is comprised of many large and small blenders capable of mixing over 250,000 gallons/day. Our dry solids chemical blending consists of five blenders capable of producing over 200,000 lb./day. Load scales are used on all blenders to ensure formulation accuracy. We are capable of producing high (tanker truck, railcar) or low (tote, drum, pail, gallon & quart) volume blends and can handle almost all non-hazardous chemical blends plus corrosive, combustible and flammable products.
At the beginning of 2018 we expanded our flammable blending and packaging capabilities with a brand new facility located at our El Campo plant. Continuing our growth, construction has begun on our new state of the art fertilizer facility that will have enhanced specialty capabilities to produce ammoniated products, as well as endothermic, and exothermic blends. This project is scheduled to be completed late 2018.
Seatex is equipped with three separate liquid chemical blending areas consisting of 20 stainless and poly vessels ranging from 400 to 10,000 gallons. We are equipped with steam and nitrogen for high viscosity and moisture sensitive materials. Soft water is used in all blends and deionized water is available when necessary.
BLEND AREA 1: Main liquid blending area produces the bulk of the products that we manufacture. This liquid blending area can produce the widest variety of chemical blends including acidic and alkaline formulations.
BLEND AREA 2: Dedicated blending area for the blending of formulations that require manufacturing segregation. Such products may contain large amounts of dark color particulate.
BLEND AREA 3: This liquid blending room is equipped to handle all blends, but more specifically combustible and flammable compounds. Raw materials can be received by rail, tanker trucks, or trucks.
All blend tanks are equipped with load cells and weight measuring scales, which enable us to precisely monitor the addition of each ingredient. We presently utilize 28 bulk holding tanks for raw material and finished goods inventory.
Our dry chemical blending consists of five blenders: a ribbon at ~5000 lb., two paddles at ~5000 lb. and ~2000 lb., and two Munson Rotary mixers. The Munson mixers are designed to produce ~1000 lb. and ~2000 lb. We have an overall powder blending capacity of over 100,000 lb. per day.
Each powder blender is equipped with load cells for accuracy and Mateer-Burt automatic fillers adjustable to fill any weight specification.
